Description: Marked on the lid " Western Stoneware, Monmouth, Illinois", a great find in a vintage jar. A cobalt blue and white fish graces the front of the jar with the following: "Griffins' Spiced Herring" written on the fish. The cobalt blue markings are not faded, and have perfect color! Looking inside the jar, you will find the markings of a hand-turned piece of pottery, with the number #150-52 on the bottom of the piece. the numbers being hand-written . All in all a very collectible piece of stoneware!
