Description: This 8 1/4" 'CITRON' color candlestick pair is shape #196 and was part of the personal collection of Tom Demitroff prior to the present owners. CITRON is the Steuben name for the color that is the bright yellow-green vaseline glass. The pair is unsigned, but verified by Demitroff as Steuben glass. Of the three yellow shades of glass that 'glow' under a blacklight (CITRON, BRISTOL and JADE YELLOW), the CITRON is the most desirable by collectors! A 10"" pair of these were on eBay two years ago and the pair sold for $686.00. Other than surface scuffs on the undersides of the base (as expected), there is no damage to either candlestick. Candlestick shapes in Gardner's book (pg. 160), show the 6"" sticks are shape #379, the 8 1/4"" sticks are shape #196, and the 10 1/2"" sticks are shape #686.
