We are pleased to offer this lovely sterling silver malachite stone country scene pin/brooch.
This is a very nice piece of jewelry. The malachite stone is mounted on the top of this beautiful sterling silver country design. This pin is in very good condition with slight polish marks that come with time. This would be an excellent addition to your jewelry collection.
In Israel, malachite is extensively mined at Timna, often called King Solomon's Mines. Archeological evidence indicates that the mineral has been mined and smelted at the site for over 3,000 years. Most of Timna's current production is also smelted, but the finest pieces are worked into silver jewelry.
Sterling silver is a white and highly reflective precious metal. Sterling refers to silver that is 92.5 percent pure, which should be stamped on the metal, sometimes accompanied by the initials of the designer or country of origin as a hallmark.
