This is lovely and unique piece. The banded agate rests on a three rope sterling silver setting. It is a very pretty ring that would be a great addition to one’s jewelry collection.
No gemstone is more creatively striped by nature than the agate. Each individual agate forms by filling a cavity in host rock. As a result, agate is often found as a round nodule, with concentric bands like the rings of a tree trunk. The bands sometimes look like eyes, fanciful scallops, or even a landscape with trees.

Sterling refers to silver that is 92.5 percent pure, which should be stamped on the metal, sometimes accompanied by the initials of the designer or country of origin as a hallmark.
