We are pleased to offer this lovely sterling silver and 14K gold lapis stone gecko pendant and chain.

This is a very pretty piece of jewelry. The Southwestern design on the gold and sterling is enhanced with a blue lapis stone then toped with the shape of a gecko. This piece is in good condition with polish marks that come with time. The lapis stone has natural colorings that may be seen in the photos. This is such a nice piece. What a great addition to one’s jewelry collection.

Lapis lazuli was often used by the ancient Egyptians to carve important amulets, such as scarabs. It was also believed to have medicinal properties. Lapis lazuli was also considered an aphrodisiac to the Romans.

The name lapis lazuli comes from the Persian word for blue, "lazhward". Lapis has been greatly appreciated for thousands of years. It was often used as inlays in jewelry and for carvings. It was used by the ancient Egyptians in many religious ceremonies.

Sterling silver is a white and highly reflective precious metal. Sterling refers to silver that is 92.5 percent pure, which should be stamped on the metal, sometimes accompanied by the initials of the designer or country of origin as a hallmark.
