Description: What a stunning addition to a lady's wardrobe! This lovely sterling silver purse or necessaire has an ornate design of swirls and flowers, along with an H monogram, on the front. It is quite elaborate and beautiful! When open, there are 3 compartments. The center one closes with a little silver hook and was probably meant to hold coins. There are calling cards in the other 2 compartments. The cards on one side are sweetly hand written and say Jessie Hillert (the lady of the H monogram?), and the other card say Mrs. Peter I Matzow (Jessie's married name?). This purse is on a chain. It measures 3 1/2" by 2 3/4" without the chain. With the chain, it hangs 8 1/2" long. It is in extremely good condition but does have a couple of shallow, small dings on the back. It is marked sterling, and the clasp shuts tightly and opens easily.
