Description:
This is a very nice, vintage, Engineers' and Plumbers' level, marked "STARRETT ATHOL MASS. U.S.A." on the nickel plated level vial cover on the top. It is also a plumb, and an adjustable inclinometer. It has a rounded hollow machined in the bottom side of the frame for plumbers to set on round pipe and establish a set amount of incline on the pipe while pipe fitting. It also has two flat surfaces for standard uses on flat surface leveling on incline setting. All three vials are in very good working order, two are stationary, the nickel plated tube is hinged with a thumbscrew to set it at any "1-16 PER FOOT" graduation you choose from the graduated scale. This level is in very good condition overall, very good nickel plating, about 98% of the black Japanning is intact on the cast iron frame, very clean, no rust. It measures 15" x 2.25 wide x .8" thick. A top quality, special use level, in great shape!
