Description: This is a case of Standard Apothecaries Measures. The mahogany box holds 6 brass measures which hold 4, 3, 2, and 1 fluid ounce each and 4, 3, 2, and 1 fluid drachms each. There is also a glass lid with a hole in the center for each measure. These were used to test apothecary shops for irregularities in the dispensing of liquid drugs. On the lid is a brass plaque, which reads, “West Riding of Yorkshire Standard Apothecaries Measures 1879 DeGrave Short and Co. London”. Contact us with any questions. Thank you.
