Description: Tallahassee, Florida, has a celebration every spring showing off their glorious yearly flower display.

There's a big parade, a three day carnival with displays and crafts. A huge parade winds through town with an annual elected "Andrew Jackson" leading the festivities. "Old Hickory" was the first Florida Governor.

The Token exclaims "Springtime Tallahassee 1974" the issue year. The reverse has an engraving of the orginal first capitol, a log cabin and the legend "Tallahassee's Sesquicentennial 1824-1974". The obverse has the "then" capitol building (a new sky scraper has since been built) with a garland of dogwood flowers (which are in full showy bloom during the celebration).

The token is made from aluminum, it has a one and a half inch diameter and weighs 4.6 grams.

This token does not receive wide distribution, so the token collector you know will enjoy adding this mint beauty to the collection.
