Description: This is a nice clean tire break-down tool, for removing and or installing 3-5" tire from/to wheels. It is marked in raised cast lettering on the handle "THE SPRINGFIELD FOR TIRES 3 TO 5 IN". It measures about 15" long, the handle is 10" long, and has two pivoting arms and one threaded adjustment, all in very good working condition. There is a provision of a 4 position tooth to pin type locator to position the arm that presses against the outside side of the tire, depending on the width of the tire I suppose. This is the first one we have seen of this type in years! This one is in great shape with most of the original black Japanning intact, no rust, or damage, no missing parts, very nice shape overall! We assume this could be used on antique auto or motorcycle tires and wheels from 3-5".
