From Paris haute couture, to the Broadway stage, and Hollywood films, Robert Sorrell creates one-of-a-kind jewelry that reflects the elegance of the 1930’s, but is timeless in its appeal. His work is well documented in books, magazines, and newspapers going back to the mid-1980’s. Named “Designer of the 90’s” by Italian fashion magazine Gioelli e Bijoux, he personally handcrafts each work for an exclusive and diverse clientele. Sorrell Originals bracelets and necklaces retail from $500 to $1,200.
DESIGN:
Imposing and impressive in dimension, design, and heft, this cuff bracelet is not only exquisitely constructed, but also quite a rare style for Sorrell Originals. It is composed of an open cuff made of wide, heavy-gauge copper-plated metal, which is embellished with surmounted large and small half-domes. The lustrous metalwork has been finely hammered and the reflected light glints off it like faceted gems. With a look at once vintage and modernist, this fabulous piece is a real showstopper!
HALLMARK:
Sorrell ORIGINALS on Robert Sorrell’s signature oval plaque, mounted on the inside of the bracelet.
DIMENSIONS:
Inner circumference measures 7-1/8”, including the 1-1/8” back opening. The cuff is somewhat flexible and can be slightly adjusted for fit. It is 2” tall and 7/8” deep.
CONDITION:
Most likely dating from the early to mid-1990’s, the piece is in excellent condition, with negligible wear to the copper finish {as seen under a loupe}.
