Description: Antique / vintage Spanish printed souvenier fan. Exact date unknown, but probably late 19th - early 20th century.

Large fan measures approx 22 1/2 inches accross the top when open. Guards are almost 13 inches long.

Both sides of the fan have busy Spanish scenes with women in Flamenco / National dress, men playing the guitar, stamping their feet and dancing and bullfighters, horse traders and others. Small symbols such as castanets within a dark turquoise blue ground along the top; the pattern echoed on the bottom. Buildings and town seen in the far background.
Sticks are made of wood.

The guards have gilt lables: DE ESPANA on one and RECUERDO on the other. The leaf is also signed PRIMERA FERIA DE ABRIL EN SEVILLA. EL ANO 1847 and elsewhere, RVB10underlined over SEVILLA. Condition:one of the sticks and guard are broken near the bottom. Since they are made of simple wood, this should be fairly easy to repair. The leaf is in good condition especially considering it's age.
