Description: Sotheby's catalogues of The Collection Du Baron De Rede Provenant De L'Hotel Lambert. This sale will be held in Paris on March 16 and 17, 2005. This is a two volume catalogue. There are a total of 600 pages and a total of 908 lots are for sale. Volume one contains Mobilier, Objects D' Art and Table Aux Et Livres. Volume two contains Orfevrerie, Porcelaine, Verrerie and Bijous Et Memorabilia. Baron de Rede had exquisite taste and he moved to the Hotel Lambert in 1949. He returned the Hotel to it's former glory. The hotel was then the center for fashionable Paris and it was the setting for his celebrated parties. The collection is estimated between 4-5 million Euros. The sale includes works of art which illustrate Alexis de Rede's fine sense of aesthetics and his modern eclectic taste. Volume one is devoted to French 18th Century Furniture, Decorative Arts from teh 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries and Old Master Paintings. Volume two includes silver, porcelain and objects of vertu, books from his library, clocks, watches, pins, canes, cigarette boxes, cigar cutters, cuff links, drawings, lamps, candlesticks, model boats, photographs of his parties, louis vuitton luggage and much much more.
