Description: SOLD!!! RARE Single Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy designed to resemble a Knife Box for cutlery! (Knife Boxes were traditionally kept on the sideboard to hold the family silver). Remarkable use of hallmarked sterling silver detail on both the lid and the body. It has a silver knob on the interior lid. Very clear hallmarks date it to Sheffield 19036.
