First Edition. 8vo., 235 pp., color illustrated dust jacket, silver boards with black lettering and navy blue illustration, silver and navy illustrated endpapers, color illustrated frontispiece plus 14 additional full page illustrations in color and black-and-white, and profuse illustrations in the text. Jack O'Brien was the surveyor for the Byrd Antarctic Expedition. His books reflect his adventures. This is the story of the Siberian Husky named Silver Chief, and the Canadian Mountie Jim Thorne. Dust jacket has some very minor edge wear and a small crease at spine head, covers with faint spotting, otherwise this book in Near Fine condition. [NBK667]
