Description: Massive graduated seven drawer Victorian walnut chest signed "T. Brooks & Co, Brooklyn, NY" on back (see photo). There is an original white inset marble on the top. The top slants down to a band of burl. Each of the drawers features two original knob pulls set into a ring. The drawer fronts have book matched burl veneer with half round carvings at each end. Each side has a bold detailed top carving with fluting on three quarter columns. The inset panels on the sides are also burled. The is a wonderful quality chest with very usable drawer space and is signed by one of the best makers of the period!
