Description:
The most fabulous Rookwood Pottery Vases that I have ever seen! It is monumental in size measuring 19 1/4"h with a 35 3/8" circumference. This rare, monumental, and spectacular Rookwood vase has a rich and lustrous standard glaze. It is exceptionally well defined in an elegant form – having all the qualifications that make Rookwood the world’s most sought after American art pottery. It is marked underneath with an R and two flames and the numbers and letters 781 S along with the impressed letters L and then a W. It is signed by renowned artist Shirayamadani (for Kataro Shirayamadani) - circa 1902. The vase is in excellent condition – there is a slight hairline across the outside of the bottom base which appears to me to be almost a slight firing line. This is a fabulous Rookwood vase – so rare in size and the free flowing form and craftsmanship is to die for! A must see! Antique Rookwood Art Pottery Vase Shirayamadani
