Description: Vintage print, c.1925. Signed on the backing, recto. Mounted to the original backing with photographers's label verso bearing his Fruitvale, California address and the tile in ink.

A classic pictorialist image by Sigismund Blumann (active 1900s-1930s), a Bay Area photographer active in the California Camera and Los Angeles Camera Clubs. Always interested in alternative processes, he was also a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society. In the 1930s, while editing “Camera Craft” magazine, he established a Print Service Department, which enabled readers to purchase salon prints for their own collections.
