Description: This is a gorgeous, Italian Rococo Buffet. It was made in Italy during the fifties. We actually purchased it in Antwerp, Belgium. The opulence of its design made it irresistible. It is made of Burl Walnut and Gilt Wood. It is in very good condition. The Buffet has many subtle components from different era's. The splendid Mirror is made in extravagant Louis XV Style. It is huge and incredibly detailed with Rococo Acanthus Leaf Scroll Work framing it. A pierced Rococo Shell Cartouche embellishes the center of the Pediment. The Buffet is topped by Black Glass. An elegant Gilded Pattern flows around the perimeter. There are Scroll Work and Bell Flower Embellishments at each corner. The Glass Top nestles into molding. It is shaped to follow the lush scalloping form of the Buffet. The Burl Walnut which the base is made from is breathtakingly lovely. The Buffet is as functional as it is beautiful. There are three Drawers at the center. They are made with Dove Tail Joints. They open to reveal roomy interiors for storing you silver settings and table linens. Flanking the Drawers at either side are Double Doors. These open to reveal roomy interiors with a Shelf flowing across the center. You fine china will store here beautifully. The sides of the piece curve elegantly. The Hardware is all original. This includes the fabulous Acanthus Floral and Foliage Handles and Pulls. The Apron has splendid Drapery Carving and Pierced Acanthus Leaf Scroll Work. The Legs are made in an opulent Cabriole Design with Scroll Feet. The Knees Are embellished with Drapery Carving and Scrolls. This is a very fine Italian Rococo Buffet.
