Description: An Old Mendi War Shield from the Mendi Area, Southern Highlands, Papaua New Guinea Fashioned from hardwood, the front surface with abstract designs decorated in russet/brown, black and white pigments and a woven cane band at the top. Showing natural wear and great patina. Rope strap on reverse. Dimensions: Height: 60.5 inches(add 4 inches to height for stand) Width: 24.5 inches This Shield comes with a Custom Removable Stand(see last photograph in series with this listing).
