Shelley is the only English potter to put as much imagination into shape as it does to pattern. That is why their pieces, especially the cups and saucers, are loved by collectors and always in demand.

This is a Cambridge-shape cup and saucer decorated with an unnamed landscape pattern. This pattern, # 0188, is from the same family as Heather, Daffodil Time, English Lakes, Woodland and Old Mill. It shows blossoming trees among beds of pink flowers.

Shelley backstamp on bottom with registration number (for shape) under glaze and pattern number handwritten in red.

Circa early to mid 1900s

Made in England.
