Description:
This is a Shelley China, England art deco design cup and saucer in the Queen Anne shape in rarely seen pattern 2120 Japonica with hand painted orange and green enamel over black transfer with orange trim.
The Queen Anne shape was introduced in 1926 and is pure art deco, and was only manufactured until 1940, then again for a short period in the 1950-1960s.
The cup is 2.5 high, the saucer is 5.6 inches in diameter and the set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or wear. The only flaw is a tiny speck of mineral kiln dust inside the cup rim caused during firing during manufacture. Very hard to find, especially undamaged because of it's fragility. A unique item for any Shelley collection. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured.
