Description: We offer an extremely rare piece based upon the proverbial Irish dish ring-this is a platter ring which is elongated and is designed to support a platter. If turned one way it can support a platter some 16 inches long by 11 inches wide, while if turned the other way it can support a slightly smaller plattersome 15 by 10 inches. It is in marvelous condition with no bumps or losses. The silver too is in extremely good condition with no bleeding. The colour of the silver is exccellent. We estimate taht it dates from the reign of Georrge IV (1820-1830) though it could be earlier and date from the late George III period.
