Most examples of this rare pattern are always faded, making this example especially valuable with it's bright, bold color. 17 jewels was considered a Seth Thomas high grade. This is a fine, rare example of this rare Seth Thomas grade, and it's clean, running, and accurate. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.
DIAL: White porcelain with Roman figures and signed: "SETH THOMAS". Hirline free. Original rare dial.
MOVEMENT: 18 size, open face, lever set, "17 Jewels", "SETH THOMAS", Two-Tone nickel and gilt patterns, #720,279. Bright, bold color.
CASE: Heavy swing out nickel/silver case. The original hard rock crystal is very thick and beveled. Very nice and free of distraction.
