Description: Richard Alcock Set of Covered Dishes Circa. 1880 England. Two covered ironware dishes by Richard Alcock. One larger, one smaller. The larger covered dish is stamped Richard Alcock Burslem, Staffordshire. It measures 7 inches high to top of lid, 13 inches wide (handle to handle) and 7 1/2 inches deep. There are three small markings inside of this dish, where it was stacked for firing (small and not noticeable). The smaller covered dish is Imperial Ironstone China, richard Alcock. It measures 5 1/2 inches high to top of lid, 10 1/2 inches wide (handle to handle) and 6 1/2 inches deep. Both can be used to serve food, hold hairbrushes in the bathroom, etc. Both are in excellent condition.
