Description:
Set of 2 large Napoleonic Sevres style porcelain containers, gilded and profusely decorated. The background is cobalt with heavy gilded edges. The obverse side features a group of aristocratic women and child (apparently Eros). The reverse side shows a view of Versailles. The containers rest on a porcelain platform decorated with a gilded central raised head of the king of France on a cobalt background. On the reverse side, both containers feature the double L mark of Limoges with a S mark in the center. Containers dimensions: length: 12 2" (31 cm.), width: 9.8" (25 cm.), height: 7" (18 cm.). The base platform: length: 12.2" (31 cm.), width 8.5" (21.5 cm.), height: 3" (8 cm.). Estimated value: $10.000.
