Description: This is a very nice vintage hand crank screw C-Clamp with two functioning screws, one for clamping the fixture to the beam, the other for applying clamp pressure to the material on the beam. We are not sure what the exact application was for this item, but it appears to be made the same a many antique beam clamps we have seen in the past, but without the beam. Most likely design for production work, where this unit would be clamped onto a beam of the correct length for the part it would be clamping onto, the beam would require a end lip, and this fixture clamped on the other end. It can be clamped from about 1/4" to 1-1/2" wide stock. There is a wood handle crank, and the wood spins freely, and is well attached. This same handle is attached to a threaded screw that has about 3.5" travel clearance, and the thread are 6" long overall. It is marked "NO. 1" but no manufactures marking on it. Our guess is that Cincinnati Tool Co. made this clamp fixture, sometime in the 1930's, as they made several different beam clamps, with the same type hand crank screw. Very nice, quite rare! It appear that is would work well with a wood beam, and or a metal beam, depending on the pressure needed to be applied. The fixture is clean, no damage, no rust, very little wear.
