Description: A good early eighteenth century scottish basket hilted broad sword haqving a double edged 33 ins. blade engraved ANDREA FARARA and struck with four King's Head marks on either side (the stamp of Joannes Wundes of Solingen. the hilt is fashioned from bars and plates.The original grip is of black fish skin with turk's heads.The sdword has a bun shaped pommel with notches into which the arms of the hilt locate.A good un touched example of a Culloden period sword.
