Description:
A great Scotch Tall Clock Circa 1820 signed on the face, by “ W. Harvey Stirling” It is from a Kansas City estate until its recent move to Savannah. It has an eight-day movement that is in the best of condition. The clock runs well and keeps good time. The case is a Crouch faced Mahogany with a great patina. The large square bonnet sits on a figured base with ogee bracket feet. She has a great Scottish painting on the face which is in wonderful condition as well. The Regency style and form all indicate circa to be 1820. With these Neo -Classical lines the wood turning and the heavy wood construction lead me to believe that it could be an American made case [Mass.]with imported works.
