Description: Schafer & Vater produced this sage green jasperware dressing table jar circa 1920. The lid features, in detailed bas-relief, two winged cherubs, one playing the lute the other a flute, accompanied by a frog who appears to be singing along to the music, all against a woodsy scene with trees, flowers, etc. The lid is bordered with fancy bas-relief ornaments. The base is surrounded with similar ornamentation. Measuring 2 1/4 inches tall x 3 1/4 inches across and numbered 2476 and the number 16 below. If it bears the Schafer and Vater crown it is too faint to discern. This very lovely piece of very old and delicate jasperware pottery is in excellent condition.
