Description: Schafer & Vater produced this rectangular sage green jasperware dressing table jar circa 1920. The lid features, in detailed bas-relief, two winged cherubs, one playing the lute the other a flute, accompanied by a frog who appears to be singing along to the music, all against a woodsy scene with trees, flowers, etc. The lid is bordered with fancy bas-relief ornaments. The base is adorned with symmetrical leaf plaque. Measuring 4 5/8 inches long x 3 1/4 inches deep x 2 1/4 inches tall and numbered with what appear to be 2816 albeit faintly. This very lovely piece of very old and delicate jasperware pottery is in excellent condition.
