Description: A scarce 17th Century Military style Dutch holster pistol. The pistol has a 13 inch barrel measuring 20 inches overall. The barrel has traces of engraved decoration and makers / proof marks. The fore-site is set well back from the muzzle it is full stocked in walnut and has iron mounts with the trigger guard being nailed to the stock in the manner of the mid 17th century. It has a banana shaped lock with a large point at the tail. This pistol was recovered from an Indian armoury and is likely that it found its way to India with a member of the Dutch East India Company.
