Description:
This is a wonderful gold porcelain art nouveau design salt and pepper shaker set that was made about 1910. I brought the set home from England but believe it to be attributable, although unmarked, to the designer Osborne working for Pickard. The shakers are 3 inches high and have a 1.5 inch square base. There is 1 original cork left. On two sides is the usual textured finish. But setting these apart artistically is the art nouveau design on the other two sides. Just beautiful and so evocative of the era. They are in very good condition with 1 minor flaw each: one has a tiny bottom chip not really visible until you turn it over and the other has a tiny top paint chip. A lovely set.
