Description:
Sailing ship wall pockets are relatively hard pockets to
find and one with its life preserver/anchor is even rarer.
This wallpocket shows a two mast schooner sailing on
a white and blue ocean. The clouds are a pale green
and the sky is a bold orange/red. What is that old
saying "red sky in the morning or red sky at night"?
Wonder which one this is? The wall pocket is in good
shape with no chips, cracks or repairs. The inside
doesn't look like it was ever used with only has a little
dust. The back has two marks. A red stamp has PAT.
NO 64211 Made in Japan and the engraved mark has
Japanese characters 64211 JAPAN. You can see the
indented area on the back that holds the string for the
anchor. I'm feel sure this is not the original string and I
have seen some ship with two anchors like clock
weights. It is still great to have one white life preserver
with the old gold anchor. I have an identical pocket in
my collection.
