Description: Signed on the mount, recto, below the print; signed, titled and dated with the photographer’s (c) stamp on verso of the mat. Ansel Adams proclaimed Ruth Bernhard (1905-2006) the greatest photographer of the female nude. As one of the few women photographing other women, Ruth’s nudes are more about form and light than eroticism. This photograph was probably printed by Michael Kenna, whose style is evident in the print interpretation.
