Description:
c1880-1890. Made in either England or the USA, this rather primitive Majolica pitcher is usually found in the 4" creamer size, rarely in this large version. The colors seen on this type are always somewhat muted but well balanced. The pitcher here features a glossy, unblemished glaze. It is in overall fine condition but does have an outside rim repair which is well done ( see close-up ). Near it on the inside is a very faint 1" hairline, quite inconsequential. Unmarked.
The pineapple pattern is always desirable since it is the symbol of hospitality....Please enlarge my photos for a closer look....To view MORE FINE MAJOLICA I have listed...just click on the "VIEW THIS DEALER'S OTHER ITEMS" button on the left, then type the word in the search box.
