Description:
This painting depicts nice mountain landscape by well listed Russian artist Vladimir Georgievich Gremitskikh (1916-1991). V.G.Gremitskikh is listed in all the major Russian art references and is highly collectable today. Born in Novosibirsk in 1916, he studied in Moscow Art School (1932-36) under K.K.Zephirov, Moscow Art Institute (1936-42) under P.D.Pokarzhevsky and S.V.Gerasimov. Gremitskikh lived and worked in Moscow. He was participating of Pan Russian exhibitions from 1943. Biography of Gremitskikh is published in well known Russian Biobibliographical Art Dictionary of Russian Artists, Iskusstvo, Moscow, 1976, v.3, p.161 (you can see Gremitskikh's page from this reference on the photos). According to the other book-reference "Exhibitions", Soviet Khudozhnik, Moscow, 1973, v.3-5 V.G.Gremitskikh regularly took part in Pan Russian exhibitions. From the Russian Art Catalogue of Price, London, 2006, Art Russie, Ltd. the paintings by V.G.Gremitskikh was sold on auctions for $5000-7000 (see my photo). His works are in leading museums of Russia. The painting is oil on board, bears date 1959 and signature in Cyrillic on the reverse of the painting. Unframed size is 27"1/2'x 19"3/4' (70 x 50 cm). I have bought this painting from artist's heirs in Moscow.
