Description:

A gold miniature rooster, its plummage fully defined on both sides with cabochon ruby eyes, suspensing on small individual gold chains, three tiny brightly colored glass eggs. A whimsical pendant from St. Petersburg, the jewelry capital of Imperial Russia, this rare treasure from the Romanov era features the creativity and fine workmanship of the empire’s most famous jeweler, Carl Fabergé, and, although not marked, may well be by the master.

St. Petersburg, 1899-1904. Stamped with a kokoshnik or Russian headdress , 56, the Russian gold standard for 14k. Possibly by Fabergé.

1 in. (2.5 cm. ) long, including suspension ring. Chain not included.
