Description: Ancient History and quite unique! This is a beautiful example of early wood carving. Its' origin is from a 16th c. Russian Monastery and unlike most things today that are made to just look at, this was made to use - studying its primitive style carving can cause one to speculate centuries ago who might have used it, and what life was like then. It is carved out of a single piece of wood, exhibiting a footed style with thumbnail concave decoration - measuring 7 1/2" h., 6 1/4" w to the handle. This is real history that most can only see in a museum.
