This red hardcover of the 34th edition proclaims “More than 5,000,000 copies in use”.It was published by Norwood Press for the Rumford Chemical Works Established in 1854 Rumford, R.I. It has cookery terms, weights and measures many classic recipes. This is a wonderful addition to the kitchen of both the experienced and the novice cook! The chapters include: Soups, Fish, Meats, Poultry, Fish and Meat Sauces, Entrees and Cheese Dishes, Salads and Salad Dressings, Puddings and Sweet Sauces, Pastry, Biscuits, Muffins, Hotbreads Etc.,Cake, Cake Frostings and Fillings, Gingerbread, Cookies, Doughnuts, Etc., Ice Creams and Ices, Canning, Preserving & Pickling, Specialities, Sandwiches, Confections,Beverages and Carving.There are both Classified and Alphabetical Indexes Followed by Our Town in the 211 page cloth covered hardback book. It is in good vintage condition. There is light wear to the spine. The inside cover is inscribed with the previous owner's name and address and the opposite page is written on and the last page has a corner missing. It contains great vintage black and white photographs.
