Description:
This is a small crocheted rug made by an eighty-four year-old great grandmother named Tudzeline. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren call her "Bibi". Bibi's grandmother taught her to make rugs when she was five years old. She selects only cotton fabric, cuts it in strips which are sewed end to end before crocheting. She is particular about telling her customers how to care for her rugs. They should be washed in cold water, then laid flat to dry. They dry beautifully on a porch or driveway in the sun. While damp use fingers to pat them to dry flat and in the proper shape. These rugs are great in front of a kitchen sink, beside a bed or in a pet's basket. This rug is made of country colors and looks good reversed. It is 24 inches long and 13 inches wide. At this price -- if we consider the effort and time spent on making these rugs-- Bibi wouldn't be making a minimum wage.
