Description:
This is a beautiful bone china commemorative plate made by Royal Worcester. The plate was made for the Worcester Charter Festival in 1971 in celetration of the town of Worcester's charter of 1621. This 10-1/2" diameter plate shows five scenes around the central coat of arms. The banners around this center state - Worcester Charter Festival 1621- 1971 Cititas In Bello In Pace Fidelis - . The five cartouches show; Worcester Cathedral - Edgar Tower - Berkeley's Hospital - Greyfriars Friar Street - and The Guildhall. The border is an egg and dart design. The names of the cartouches are shown on the back surrounding the mark of Royal Worcester Fine Bone China - England. This plate is in excellent condition with no chips, flakes, glaze crazing or cracks.
