Description: Wonderful very early C.1840-1850 French foot warmer. In the early days they filled these little tin boxes with coal. They where placed on the floor or in bed. You could temper the heat by turning the top handle and close of the ventilation holes on top. This little foot warmer has a handle and was carried throughout the homes in the early to mid 1800s for heat. It was made by GIRODON & CO FABNTS DEPOSE Villeurbanne LYON STOKER. It is in good vintage condition but one of the hinges was broken off. I have shown this in a picture. Still for something so old it looks great. You could still use it if you have some coal. ------ Please email me for more pictures.
