Description:
Produced by Royal Bayreuth Tapestry China in their Tettau, Germany factory during early 1900s and marked underneath with their early 20th century blue mark. Named because of its rough finish similar in texture to needlepoint tapestry. The process of wrapping the article in coarse cloth, then baking, obtained this effect. The cloth was consumed in the baking and the desired tapestry effect resulted. The beautiful scenic decoration was added over the glaze. This scenic Royal Bayreuth Tapestry creamer or pitcher is decorated with a stag in a stream, a gazebo on a hill, all surrounded by a forest. Measuring 3 1/4 inches tall x 4 inches wide from spout to handle with a pinched spout. The tapestry is excellent, the colors are vibrant and the gold is intact on the handle. With only minimum wear to the gold on the rim and spout this Royal Bayreuth scenic tapestry creamer or pitcher is in excellent condition.
