Description:
What a great custom-made round solid mahogany dining table. This is not your typical Duncan Phyfe style table. The table has one large 24" wide, skirted leaf which makes the table 6 feet long when in use. The table can expand to a total of 8 feet. Another leaf can be made, or you can choose to use a piece of plywood and cover with a tablecloth and no one would be the wiser! Ingenuously, there is a pair of hidden legs which drop down to provide needed additional support when the table is fully extended to 8'. The additional legs are not needed when using only one leaf. The table is extremely secure and stout when set up. The stretchers open and close smoothly. The top has a delicate reeded edge with inlaid banding of flame mahogany. The single pedestal base has slender turned column with 4 gracefully arched reeded feet. Notice the carved rosettes on each side of the legs. The feet end in heavily cast brass paw feet with attached brass casters. The finish is in excellent condition. Here is the perfect table for that small sized dining room. We currently have a couple sets of dining chairs which would greatly compliment this table.
