Description:
For Sale I have a Beautiful Pair of Candlesticks made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The Pattern is "Clematis" and they are done in the very desirable Matte Blue Background Glaze. The Candlesticks displays a Salmon to White Embossed Flower on a Tree like Textured Matte Blue Background. One is a little bit darker than the other. The Flowers accented with Embossed Medium Green Foliage or Leaves. The detail is Crisp and Sharp. The Candlesticks are considered to be in excellent condition as the only issues to report is some light crazing on the exterior . This seems to be common with the Blue background glazes from Roseville. Each Candlestick is signed with the "Roseville U.S.A." raised relief mark along with the Mold number 1158-2" which is also in raised relief. There is also the letter "A in blue ink or Glaze on one of the Candlestick bottoms. This is a little hard to see. This was probably the Artist initial or finishers mark. These Candlesticks were made Circa 1944, during World War II.
