Description:
This well-built pair of antique andirons, or chenets, is created of hand-forged iron and bronze and does not display even a single weld. Each andiron begins with a cast bronze urn final, demonstrates superior craftsmanship with hand-curled accents, and finishes with hand-spooned feet. The fire dogs, or log supports, are attached using impressive large rivets (shown in images). These are gorgeous, and they present a magnificent original patina. These andirons also display an additional rod, which turns and presents a hook. This element was likely used for cooking and is very distinctive. These are 12 wide at the feet, 24 tall, and the log supports extend 21 ½
