Description:
Here is a heavy duty, revolving grater, #712C, made by the Houchin Manufacturing Company. This specimen is a large, heavy duty model. This shelf mount, Houchin vegetable grater is in Very Good ++ condition. This wonderful specimen has a gorgeous wooden grip on the elegantly turned handle. The embossed, revolving grating drum states "HOUCHIN MFG CO‘ NY. - PAT JAN 11 '70 - APL 9 '72" and the manufacture date of “May 29, 77.” The drum is 6 1/4" diameter. This revolving grater was patented by Thomas W. Houchin, of Morrisania, N.Y.. Patent No. 126,144. According to the patent information, this "Vegetable-Grater" is complete and is described as a "cutting-surface" and as a "grating-surface" and represented for the purposes stated. {As a cutting-surface, formed of perforations, each having two lateral triangular cutters or teeth with an open throat in front. As a grating-surface, used as described.} This grater makes a great accent piece and is certain to be a great addition to any kitchen utensil collection.
