Description:
GBN, Guarder Bing Nuremberg, was founded in Nurnberg by the brothers Ignaz and Adolf Bing in 1863. Initially the company made kitchen utensils and progressed to metal and tin toys in the late 1800s. The company eventually became a leading German toy maker. After falling into financial hardship, the company closed it’s doors in 1933.
This revolving or mechanical food grater is in very good condition with original paint and bright tin. It works as good as new and would make a wonderful accent piece in any room. When clamped to a work surface the grater stands 10 3/4" high. The diameter of the hopper is 2 7/8" and the diameter of the grater drum is 3 1/2". This would make a wonderful addition to any vintage kitchen utensil collection.
