Description: A fine rare and unusual South American carved ivory double sided fine tooth comb sheathed on both sides with a pair of matching silver slip guards detailed with high relief chased floral an C-scroll flanking Native American Indian ritual scenes. The ivory has a rich mellow yellow white texture with a fine tight grain, the teeth all perfectly in place. This rare and unusual piece was no doubt painstakingly made by expert hands, for the exclusive use of the upper class elite of the time and would make a spellbinding addition to any fine collection.
